Ok guys! As we hopefully all know, there are certain advantages granted to each army based on your race, that are for use on any map. Alongside these however, are certain race specific advantages that are used int he border princes campaign. They only apply to certain races and are simply additional advantages. As far as Blane and I can tell they are optional, and not exactly balanced. So, do we want to use these, or simply ignore them?

Well, my personal opinion is that they are very arbitrary and favor only a few of us. The bonuses are noteworthy as well.
I vote them out.

bahh.. they=re there for fluff purposes.. and campaigns are built around fluff, not full-out competition: that what tournaments are made for. So I say keep them in. (btw, I don't say this because of a possible bonus to WE.. I actually have no clue if there is one lol)

Fair enough. The other proposition I had regarding this is that armies that have bonuses this time around would not have any in future campaigns, and those that didn't might have some. Example, Dwarves and Hordes of Chaos have bonuses this time around. Next campaign we play, it could be Orcs, Skaven and Ogres. Next Time, HE WE DE. Next time, since most people got a bonus, maybe Dwarves and Hordes could be given a bonus again. Now we can have some sort of balance AND keep the fluff. I agree that this is not a tournament, but I do believe that this campaign will be much more fun if everyone has a chance at winning(in this case, the bonuses are not game breaking, but you catch my drift). How bout that?

I like the idea of keeping them, but yeah, I think that if we continue to play campaigns we need to keep some mind on making long term balance. It's cool to be like, some people have advantage here, but less so if you never get to be that guy.

I checked out the army specific rules and they're nothing special. I honestly don't see what the big deal is about them. We can just play the campaign as is.

Its a lot easier to say that since your one of the two armies that have a bonus.

who cares: life isn't fair either. let's just get through this campaign, play it with all it's rules. Then, if we play another one, we can amend various aspects.
btw, when is this thing kicking off?

Fair enough. The majority has spoken anyways. Keep them.
The campaign is starting mid-May. We're going to have to get together for the first turn just so everyone knows how things are going to go down. The 15th is a Friday. However, we should maybe agree on a date to do moves. Monday seems like a good choice since it lets you fight battles during the weekend. In this case, we would start on 18th of May. Any suggestions to add?
Also, so everyone knows, Cowboy, Auer and I are going to meet on Wednesday to discuss how the maps will be changed (photoshop, sketchup, etc) and who is going to take care of it all (the uploading, the move verification, map modification, etc). We are also going to review the current victory conditions and amount of time/turns until the campaign ends which are suggested in the ''Campaigning in the Border Princes'' section of the compendium. Time or turns as limits are better VS objectives since it will prevent the campaign from lasting too long or too short. As always, we will discuss any changes with you all.
