Morning,
I just had the idea that we should post the rules we had used at the Festival, and some that we did not use. I know this is going to be a crazy discussion because everybody has a different point of view, but feel free to make new posts when it gets too long or something.
Just through some ideas out there.
I remember Empire halberdiers having the option of heavy armor instead of shield, the Ogre rules Dan had posted, Hydras DON'T go through cover freely like the FAQ says. The others were just general discussion like Dwarven Rangers having the foresters rule. Just fun fixes for a whole lot of things. I might devise a new points cost for High Elf characters that accurately represents their worth, namely Teclis and Tyrion. Not to say I'm going to use them in the campaign, this is just in general.

Hmm. I like it, but why don't we post a thread for each army? That way you can see whatever army specific rules you need at any time?

Sounds pretty good, I just hope things don't go crazy with house rules all over the place.

Yeah I know what you mean Brow. We should keep it to either extreme stuff ei OMFG this is too cheap or simple things, like: it makes sense that they should have that.

well don't forget house rules are intended to be used for fun, and with a consensus from both players. So if some of us want 40 million house rules, and some of us want like 1, this is all good. Just discuss and agree with your opponents.

I've started scouring Warseer forums and I've started stumbling on threads that deal specifically with balance in army books. I'll report what I've found in a few days.

I think it would be better if we came up with all the house rules and everyone agreed to them and thats it instead of having everyone do their own house rules and discussing them with their opponents. This way everyone would know what all the house rules are and could get used to them.

Well, I think what he meant by that is that you shouldn't be forced into using house rules. If you don't agree with them, you should feel free to discuss it with your opponent and nuts. But yeah I think it is still a good idea to talk about them here to get the ideas rolling around and have people be familiar with them.

exactly. Like if Blane and I both really like a house rule, but other don't well, we can still use it in our games, but we won't in others. But in general, we can try to come to a consensus that allows everyone to enjoy the fixes.

Fair enough. I know its a long shot but it would still be ideal if we came up with house rules everyone likes so we don't have to discuss them with a particular opponent.

I am particularly interested in dressing up a list of things we could amend for the next Weekend of Doom.
I'll start a word document detailing everything that was used previously and things we will come up with.
So far, I will include the following:
-The new Ogre Kingdoms rules proposed by Dan. (tested) -The Empire Halberdiers Heavy Armor option. (tested) -The Dwarven Rangers' ability to move through forests. (Not tested) -The Dark Elf Hydra cannot move though cover. (Not tested)
and maybe a few that I forgot.
The next thing I would like to tackle is the High Elf/Dark Elf match-up. Currently, it is in favor of Dark Elfs. It is a shame, because I like playing against Cisco, but unless he purposely uses a worst list, I cannot compete. I would like to fix this. Maybe we could get together and think up some solutions (on both sides).

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'd rather not be a lamo and sit and shoot arrows and magic all day.
Whatever, I'll come up my own solutions.
